Industry 4.0 will be characterized by intelligent, flexible and autonomously adapting devices, machines and systems. But how exactly do autonomously adaptable Industrie 4.0 systems change production? The Industry 4.0 Research Advisory Board, coordinated by acatech, wants to answer these and other questions in an expert report and is awarding an R&D contract for this purpose. Universities, (technical) universities and non-university research institutions are invited to submit a bid for this until 08 March 2023.

The expertise is to show in which aspects modern systems engineering for autonomously changeable Industrie 4.0 systems differs from previous engineering in the production context. Autonomously adaptable Industrie 4.0 systems are systems that can perform tasks autonomously and to a large extent without human intervention and are highly adaptable. Existing solutions in leading companies will serve as best practices and barriers and obstacles to implementation will be presented. The aim of the expertise is to derive concrete options for action for politics, science and industry. For the R & amp;E order a total of 90,000, - Euro from public funding is available.
